Jobscan alternatives in 2026: seven tools compared

Seven tools that replace some part of Jobscan, ranked on six criteria stated before the list. Every price and free allowance was read on 27 September 2026, including Jobscan's own, which took a browser to see. Start with a different question than which tool is best: which of the four things Jobscan does were you actually paying for?

LumyhiredWho writes this

What is the best Jobscan alternative in 2026?

Lumyhired ranks first on six criteria (replaces more than the scan, published price, free allowance stated to the unit, does something Jobscan does not, English and French, parser-readable export). It searches 10 job boards, rewrites the resume against the full posting, checks the file parses and files each version with the application, from €5 a week with a 3-day money-back guarantee; there is no free plan and no trial. Teal is second and the strongest free replacement for the tracker. SkillSyncer is third and the closest like-for-like match report at $14.95 a month. For reference, Jobscan itself is $49.95 a month, $29.98 a month on the quarterly plan, with 5 free scans a month.

Lumyhired publishes this page and ranks itself first, so weigh the criteria against what you need. Prices read on each vendor's own pages on 27 September 2026. Page published 27 September 2026.

Why people look for a Jobscan alternative

Three reasons come up, and all three are checkable. We checked them on 27 September 2026.

  • The price. Jobscan Premium is $49.95 a month, or $89.95 every 3 months, which its own screen states as $29.98 a month. The monthly rate is the highest of any tool on this page, and even the discounted quarterly rate stays above every alternative here: Rezi at $29, Huntr at $26.66, Teal at $26.33, and down from there.
  • The free tier runs out. The free plan is $0 forever and gives 5 resume scans a month, alongside 5 ATS and recruiter findings. Five scans covers a little over one a week. Anyone applying daily hits the wall in the first week and is then choosing between $49.95 and doing without.
  • You cannot read the prices where you expect to. jobscan.co/pricing does not serve a pricing page. It returns a 301 redirect to app.jobscan.co/plan, an address inside the product. In a browser with JavaScript the three plans render there normally. A fetcher that does not run JavaScript, reading the same URL the same day, received a document containing the single word Jobscan.

That third point has a consequence worth stating plainly, because it shapes every other page you will read on this search. The roundups ranking for "Jobscan alternatives" quote $49.95 and five free scans, and none of the three we read states a date on which it read either figure from Jobscan. One of them adds an annual price we could not find on any Jobscan surface. The numbers on this page came off Jobscan's own plan screen, opened logged out, and are dated.

Horizontal bar chart of the cheapest paid plan per month: Kickresume $4.50, SkillSyncer $11.62, Resume Worded $19, Lumyhired about EUR 20, Teal $26.33, Huntr $26.66, Rezi $29, Jobscan $29.98.
Every tool at its cheapest per-month rate, including Jobscan's quarterly rate rather than its $49.95 monthly one. Vendor pricing pages, read 27 September 2026. Currencies as published, not converted. Original chart.

First decide which part of Jobscan you are replacing

Jobscan is four products in one subscription: a match report against a posting, a resume builder, a job tracker, and a LinkedIn profile review. Most people use one of them and pay for four. Which alternative is right depends entirely on which one that is, and no other page on this search makes the split.

Jobscan Premium splits into four parts: match report, resume builder, job tracker and LinkedIn review. Each part has a replacement below it: SkillSyncer and Lumyhired, Kickresume and Rezi, Teal and Huntr, Resume Worded.
The four jobs inside one Jobscan subscription and what replaces each. Plans and free allowance read on Jobscan's own plan screen, logged out, 27 September 2026. Original diagram.

Read the figure as a shopping list rather than a ranking. If you only ever pasted postings into the match report, SkillSyncer at $14.95 a month gives you the same shape of answer for under a third of the price and nothing else changes. If you were mostly using the tracker, Teal and Huntr both give you one free. If you were using three of the four, a single tool that covers the loop saves more than any individual swap.

How we ranked these Jobscan alternatives

We did not run a scored output test, so no claim here compares the accuracy of one match report against another. The order rests on what each vendor publishes on its own pages, read on 27 September 2026. Six criteria, in this order of weight:

  1. Replaces more than the scan. Jobscan bundles four jobs. A tool that covers several of them is a replacement; a tool that covers one is a swap.
  2. Published price. The cost is readable on a public page, before an account, before a card. This is the criterion Jobscan itself fails, and it is why people arrive at this search.
  3. Free allowance stated to the unit. Not "a generous free tier" but the number of scans, resumes or tracked jobs you get.
  4. Does something Jobscan does not. There is little point paying for a narrower version of what you already had.
  5. English and French. For people applying in the US, the UK or France.
  6. Export a parser can read. A text-based PDF or a DOCX, not an image.

Three of the pages ranking for this search today put their own product first, and only one of them says so. This page also puts its publisher first. The criteria above are stated so you can disagree with the weighting and reorder the list yourself. If you have already narrowed the choice to these two specifically, the one-to-one comparison lives at Lumyhired versus Jobscan, which goes feature by feature and says where Jobscan is the better buy.

The 7 best Jobscan alternatives in 2026

Seven alternatives against the product they replace. Features, free allowances and prices read on each vendor's own pages on 27 September 2026, in the currency published there. Jobscan's row was read on its plan screen in a browser, logged out, the same day. "Cheapest" is the lowest per-month rate each vendor publishes, which for several tools means committing to a quarter or a year. Prices change often; check before paying.

  1. 1. Lumyhired

Best for: Replacing more of Jobscan than the scan, in English or French

Replaces: Match report, tailoring, tracker, and the job search Jobscan does not do.

Price: No free plan and no trial. Weekly plans €5 (Starter), €8 (Pro) and €13 (Hunt), cancel anytime, 3-day money-back guarantee.

    What it does well

    • Covers four of the five steps in one account: search across 10 job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, France Travail, Remotive, Adzuna, hiring.cafe, startup.jobs, Gradcracker and UK Visa Jobs), a rewrite against the full posting, an ATS parsing check, and a tracker that keeps each version beside the job it was written for.
    • Jobscan scores a resume against a posting you found somewhere else. This finds the posting too, which is the step most people were paying a second subscription for.
    • The price is on a public page before you create anything: €5 a week to start, cancel anytime, 3-day money-back guarantee. Jobscan's plan screen needs JavaScript and an in-app URL to show you the same thing.
    • English and French throughout: France Travail is one of the boards searched, section headings are detected in both languages, and the tailored resume can be written in French. No other tool in this list searches a French job board.
    • The extraction preview runs in your browser with no account and no upload. It shows the text a parser pulls out of a file, which is worth running on the output of any tool here before you send it.

    Worth knowing

    • Smaller brand than Jobscan or Teal. There is far less third-party review coverage to read before you decide, and Jobscan has been in this category much longer.
    • Built for one well-aimed application at a time. If the plan is to fire off 200 applications a day, an auto-apply product suits that better than this does.
    • No free plan and no trial. The full checker sits behind the paywall; the free tool is the extraction preview, and it answers the parsing question only.
    • No standalone match rate to wave at yourself. If a number out of 100 is the thing you liked about Jobscan, you will miss it here.
  2. 2. Teal

Best for: The strongest free replacement for the tracker and the keyword check

Replaces: The tracker, and a thinner version of the match report.

Price: Free forever: unlimited resumes, unlimited job tracking, 10 resume templates, the top 5 keywords per posting, Basic analysis mode, 10 AI bullet credits, 2 summary credits, 2 cover letter credits. Teal+ $13 every 7 days, $29 every 30 days or $79 every 90 days, no card to start.

    What it does well

    • If you were on Jobscan mainly for the tracker, this replaces it at no cost, with unlimited resume versions and unlimited tracked jobs.
    • Attach a posting and Teal marks its keywords next to your resume. You make every edit yourself, so nothing changes unless you choose it.
    • No card required to start Teal+, which is the cheapest way to find out whether you like it.

    Worth knowing

    • Free keyword matching stops at the top 5 keywords and analysis mode is marked Basic, so per posting it says less than Jobscan's report did.
    • It searches no job boards of its own. You find the role elsewhere and save it with the Chrome extension.
    • Paying $13 every 7 days is the most expensive way to buy Teal+, at roughly twice the 90-day rate per week.

  3. 3. SkillSyncer

Best for: The closest like-for-like scanner at a third of the price

Replaces: The match report, almost exactly.

Price: Free forever: 1 resume built and exported as PDF, 2 job match scans a week, 10 AI credits a week, 10 saved scans. Premium $14.95 a month, or $11.62 a month billed $34.86 quarterly.

    What it does well

    • This is the swap that changes least. Paste a posting, get a match score and a missing-keyword list, the same shape of output Jobscan gives.
    • At $14.95 a month it is under a third of Jobscan's $49.95 monthly rate, and $11.62 a month on the quarterly plan.
    • Each problem is marked on the bullet it belongs to rather than gathered into a summary, so the fix sits where the fault is.

    Worth knowing

    • Two scans a week on the free tier runs out quickly if you apply daily, and it is fewer than Jobscan's 5 a month over a four-week stretch only if you scan sparingly.
    • An account is required even on the free tier, so there is no anonymous first look at your own file.
    • DOCX export and the live match score are Premium. A much smaller brand than Jobscan, with correspondingly little independent review coverage.

  4. 4. Huntr

Best for: Approving each AI edit one at a time before it lands on the resume

Replaces: The tracker, plus the rewrite Jobscan leaves to you.

Price: Free plan: unlimited base resumes, 2 job-tailored resumes, 2 application packets, tracking for up to 100 jobs, unlimited autofills. Pro $40 a month, $90 every 3 months or $160 every 6 months.

    What it does well

    • Jobscan tells you what is missing and stops. Huntr proposes the actual edit, with a short reason, and you accept, change or ignore each one.
    • The free plan tracks up to 100 jobs and includes 2 tailored resumes, which is enough to judge the output before paying.
    • Exports as PDF or DOCX, and each tailored version stays tied to the saved job in the tracker.

    Worth knowing

    • At $40 a month, Pro is the second most expensive plan in this list and only $10 below Jobscan's monthly rate. The saving appears on the 6-month plan, at $26.66 a month.
    • Huntr also publishes the application data cited later on this page and its own roundup of tailoring tools puts Huntr first, so read its numbers with that in mind.

  5. 5. Rezi

Best for: Keyword targeting done inside the builder where you edit

Replaces: The match report and the builder, in one screen.

Price: Free: 1 resume, 1 AI interview, 3 PDF downloads. Pro $29 a month. Lifetime $149 one time. 100% money-back guarantee within 30 days of purchase on both paid plans.

    What it does well

    • Reads the posting, lists the keywords it did not find, and ticks each one off as you cover it, without switching tabs between scanner and editor.
    • The $149 Lifetime plan is the only one-time payment here. It costs less than four months of Jobscan Premium and never renews.
    • The 30-day money-back guarantee is the longest refund window in this list.

    Worth knowing

    • For each missing keyword it offers to write a new bullet containing that keyword and place it under a job. That is the feature most likely to put a line on your resume you cannot defend in an interview.
    • The free tier is 1 resume and 3 PDF downloads, which is about one application's worth.
    • At $29 a month it saves less against Jobscan than SkillSyncer does, for a narrower report.

  6. 6. Resume Worded

Best for: Line-by-line bullet feedback with a LinkedIn profile review beside it

Replaces: The LinkedIn review, and a writing critique Jobscan does not give.

Price: Free: a score with feedback and unlimited re-uploads, account required. Pro $49 a month, $33 a month billed $99 quarterly, or $19 a month billed $229 a year.

    What it does well

    • Reviews your LinkedIn profile as well as your resume, which matters because a recruiter often reads the profile before opening the application.
    • Comments on individual bullets for specificity, impact and measurable results, so you get a reason rather than a number.
    • Free re-uploads are unlimited: fix one bullet, run it again, and see whether the comment cleared.

    Worth knowing

    • Its monthly rate of $49 is within a dollar of Jobscan's $49.95, so the saving only appears on the yearly plan at $19 a month.
    • The score comes from its own writing rules rather than from a posting you paste, so it does not tell you how you fit one specific job. The Targeted Resume tool is the part that does, and it is a Pro feature.
    • Its headline claims of 5x more interviews are self-published with no method, sample size or date.
    • Price transparency is recent and easy to miss. We recorded no published Pro price anywhere on the site on 25 September 2026; on 27 September 2026 the three prices above were on its get-pro page.

    Source: https://resumeworded.com/get-pro

  7. 7. Kickresume

Best for: Design-led templates at the lowest yearly price in this list

Replaces: The builder, not the scan.

Price: Free: 4 resume templates, 4 cover letter templates, 1 website template, unlimited downloads. Premium $19 a month, $9 a month billed $27 quarterly, or $4.50 a month billed $54 a year. 14-day money-back guarantee.

    What it does well

    • $4.50 a month on the yearly plan is the cheapest paid price here, roughly a tenth of Jobscan's monthly rate.
    • The free tier allows unlimited downloads, which no other free tier in this list does.
    • Premium adds 40+ templates, an AI writer, and a library of pre-written phrases to start from.

    Worth knowing

    • The ATS checker is a Premium feature, so the cheapest plan here does not replace the thing you were using Jobscan for.
    • No job search and no application tracking, so the version you sent is yours to file.
    • A heavily styled layout is the most common cause of broken extraction, so the design strength cuts both ways.

What you give up by leaving Jobscan

A comparison in which the competitor loses every row is not a comparison. Three things go with Jobscan when you cancel.

  • The most detailed single report in this group. One view gives a match rate, hard skills, soft skills, job titles it did not find, and formatting problems. SkillSyncer is the closest in shape, and nothing here reproduces the whole of it in one screen.
  • A long track record. Jobscan has been in this category far longer than most tools on this page, with a large body of published material and user history behind it. Several alternatives here, including this one, are much newer with fewer public references. That is a real difference and it is reasonable to weigh it.
  • A genuinely free option you already knew. Five scans a month at $0 forever is a real allowance. If you scan fewer than five postings a month, the honest advice is to keep the free plan and spend nothing.

None of these tools acts on the filter people picture when they say ATS, either. Greenhouse's auto-reject help page says automatic rejection comes only from a candidate's answer to a knockout question a recruiter set up, such as work authorisation. What a scanner buys you is a file that extracts cleanly and wording that a recruiter's search and quick skim will hit. The mechanics are in the guide to how ATS filters actually screen resumes, and the wider scanner comparison is in the best ATS resume tools.

Which Jobscan alternative fits your situation

You want the scan, the rewrite, the tracker and the search in one place. Lumyhired, from €5 a week in English or French, with no free plan and a 3-day money-back guarantee.

You only ever used the match report. SkillSyncer at $14.95 a month, or $11.62 on the quarterly plan. Same shape of output, under a third of the price.

You only ever used the tracker. Teal free, with unlimited resumes and unlimited tracked jobs, or Huntr free for up to 100 jobs.

You want the rewrite done for you, edit by edit. Huntr, starting with its 2 free tailored resumes.

You want to pay once and never again. Rezi Lifetime at $149, which is under four months of Jobscan Premium.

You want the lowest price of all. Kickresume at $4.50 a month on the yearly plan, as long as you accept that the ATS checker is a Premium feature and there is no job search.

You want your LinkedIn profile reviewed too. Resume Worded, at $19 a month on the yearly plan.

One caveat on switching for volume. Cheaper scans tempt people into scanning more postings and applying to all of them. In Huntr's Q1 2026 report, covering 139,927 applications from 25,635 job seekers, people who sent 11 to 20 applications in total got interviews at 9.25% per application, against 2.58% for those who sent more than 100. Huntr sells one of the tools ranked above and its users are not a random sample, so treat it as a correlation from vendor data. The numbers behind a sensible weekly target are in how many jobs to apply to, and the tailoring tools are compared separately in the best AI for resume tailoring.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Jobscan alternative in 2026?

It depends which part of Jobscan you were using, which is why this page ranks on six stated criteria rather than one. Lumyhired is first because it replaces more of the product than the scan alone and adds the job search Jobscan does not have, from €5 a week. For a free replacement of the tracker and a lighter keyword check, Teal. For the closest like-for-like match report, SkillSyncer at $14.95 a month. Prices read 27 September 2026.

Is there a free alternative to Jobscan?

Several, with real limits, all read on 27 September 2026. Teal's free tier gives unlimited resumes, unlimited tracked jobs and the top 5 keywords per posting. Huntr's free plan gives 2 tailored resumes and tracking for 100 jobs. SkillSyncer gives 2 job match scans and 10 AI credits a week. Rezi gives 1 resume and 3 PDF downloads. Kickresume gives 4 templates with unlimited downloads. Every one of them requires an account. Lumyhired has no free plan and no trial; its free tool is the extraction preview, which runs in your browser with no account.

How much does Jobscan actually cost in 2026?

On Jobscan's own plan screen, opened logged out on 27 September 2026: Free at $0 forever with 5 resume scans a month, Monthly at $49.95 billed every month, and Quarterly at $89.95 every 3 months, which the page states as $29.98 a month and which carries a 7-day free trial. Those are the figures this page compares against. Note that jobscan.co/pricing does not serve a pricing page; it redirects to an address inside the product.

Why can't I see Jobscan's prices?

Because jobscan.co/pricing returns a 301 redirect to app.jobscan.co/plan, an address inside the product rather than on the marketing site. A browser with JavaScript renders the three plans there. A tool that reads pages without running JavaScript, which includes many price-comparison crawlers and some AI assistants, gets a document containing the single word Jobscan. Checked 27 September 2026. This is why nearly every Jobscan roundup you will read quotes the price secondhand.

What do you lose by leaving Jobscan?

The depth of one report. Jobscan's match report against a single posting is the most detailed in this group: a match rate, hard skills, soft skills, job titles it did not find, and formatting problems, all in one view. Nothing here reproduces all of that in a single screen. SkillSyncer comes closest in shape. You also lose a brand with a long track record and a large body of published material, which is a reasonable thing to weigh.

Is a cheaper Jobscan alternative worth switching to mid-search?

Switching costs you the versions and notes you have already filed, so the case is strongest at the start of a search or when you are about to renew. If you are mid-search and Jobscan is working, the quarterly plan at $29.98 a month is closer to the market than the $49.95 monthly rate, and running one of the free tiers alongside it costs nothing.

Is there a Jobscan alternative that works in French?

Lumyhired is the one in this list that does the whole job in French: France Travail is one of the 10 boards it searches, section headings are detected in French as well as English, and the tailored resume can be written in French. The others in this list are English-first on the pages we read, and a keyword report built on English job ads is of limited use against a French annonce.

Should I use Jobscan and something else together?

That works, and it is often the cheapest honest answer. Jobscan's free tier gives 5 scans a month at no cost, which is enough to second-opinion the applications you care most about, while a free tracker such as Teal or Huntr handles the bookkeeping. You only need to replace the paid plan if you are scanning more than 5 postings a month.

Where Lumyhired fits

Lumyhired searches 10 job boards, reads the full posting, rewrites the summary, bullets and skills against it under rules that keep titles, dates, employers and numbers fixed, checks that the exported file parses, and saves each version next to the job in its tracker. France Travail is one of the boards, and the tailored resume can be written in French. Plans are €5, €8 and €13 a week on the pricing page, cancel anytime, with a 3-day money-back guarantee. There is no free plan and no trial. The one free tool is the ATS preview, which runs in your browser with no account; the full ATS resume checker is part of the paid plans. Against Jobscan specifically, the feature-by-feature version is at Lumyhired versus Jobscan.
